World Vision Georgia is announcing a vacancy for a Social Worker position at the 24-hour shelter for homeless children

Position Title: Social Worker Work Place: Tbilisi Work Schedule: 20 hours a week, from Monday to Friday.

The 24-hour shelter for homeless children unites a day center and a crisis intervention overnight shelter.

The goal of the day center is to assess the children referred by the mobile team or involved in the service in other ways, to provide psychological and medical assistance based on identified needs, to provide formal and informal education in order to gradually wean the children off street life and stably integrate them into the day center services, with the aim of placing them in 24-hour transitional services or other services.

The crisis intervention shelter operates with the day center, whose main goal is to provide emergency shelter and assistance (satisfaction of primary medical and psycho-emotional needs) to children in crisis situations (living unsupervised on the streets, left without housing, victims of violence, etc.) and to determine the long-term care form for the child.

Main Responsibilities: - Upon the child's arrival at the center, filling out an application form (registration form); - Maintaining case files (personal cases) of the Day Center's beneficiaries; - Identifying the urgent needs of a child arriving at the center from medical, psychological, and social perspectives, and working with the center's multidisciplinary team to find ways to meet these needs; - Gathering information about the child's family and social support network (if any); - Assessing the child and, in collaboration with the center's multidisciplinary team and the mobile team's social worker, developing an initial care plan; - Keeping records of the child's progress in relation to the case file and the goals of the initial care plan; - Actively participating in the child's personal identification documentation and resolving issues related to citizenship; providing information and available documents to the mobile team's social worker; - Preparing the child, together with the center's multidisciplinary team, for transition to 24-hour transit service or long-term care; - Developing, together with the center's multidisciplinary team, an assessment tool to evaluate the child's readiness for transition to 24-hour transit service or alternative forms of care, and conducting the assessment in accordance with these indicators, together with the mobile team's social worker; - Adhering to the organization's internal policies and acting in accordance with the Child and Adult Beneficiary Protection Protocol; - Performing other position-related responsibilities within the scope of competence, as assigned by the manager

Qualification Requirements: - Higher education in Social Work - Relevant work experience (at least 2 years) - Oral and written communication skills - Teamwork skills - Organizational and planning skills - Attention to detail
