Open Competition for Academic Positions

An open competition is announced for the selection of academic personnel, specifically for two vacant assistant professor positions in the field of Computing at the "Georgian University of St. Andrew the First-Called, Public Institution of the Patriarchate of Georgia"; one vacant assistant professor position in the field of Psychology (Psychodiagnostics and Counseling).

The deadline for submitting documentation and registration for participants is September 7-8, 2026. The address is: Tbilisi, Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue #53a, in the Office of Business and Human Resource Management, first building (room N104), from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The commission must present the results of the competition no later than September 18.

The main requirements for occupying the academic position of assistant professor: - A legislative requirement is established for occupying the academic position of assistant professor: - A doctoral academic degree or an equivalent degree; - When reviewing candidates' data for an academic position, their achievements in educational and scientific-research areas will be considered, which can be assessed and confirmed by: - Scientific papers, scientific scholarships, and grants received over the last 5 years, and other scientific activities; - Participation in scientific conferences and professional development events over the last 5 years; - International cooperation and activities in academic and scientific-research areas; - For assistant professors and assistants - a motivational letter presented by the candidate; - A syllabus/syllabi (its content, learning outcomes, and methods for achieving them are assessed). For the purposes of the competition, a candidate must present no more than three syllabi; - A scientific paper/project/research that, in the candidate's opinion, best showcases their scientific potential; - Professionally, the following criteria will be considered for the position of assistant professor: - For the position of assistant professor, a person with at least a master's or equivalent academic degree may be selected, who meets at least one of the following conditions: - Has at least 3 years of experience working in a leading position in the relevant field for the competitive vacant position or performing specific work in the relevant field; - Has at least 2 years of experience in pedagogical activities at a higher educational institution; - Has experience participating in a research project/projects of a scientific or practical nature carried out in the relevant field, and/or has published scientific publications;

Both academic and professional requirements define additional university-specific (specific) requirements: For contestants only in the field of Computing: - Information and communication technologies / computing with at least 3 years of pedagogical and/or practical teaching experience; - Theoretical knowledge and practical skills using programming, web technologies, data processing, or artificial intelligence technologies; - Ability to plan, implement, and assess practical / laboratory activities; - Ability to develop a course syllabus, theme plan, practical tasks, and assessment criteria; - Knowledge of using modern software tools; - Knowledge of leading, consulting, and evaluating educational practical projects; - English language proficiency at least at B2 level; - A professional portfolio, GitHub / GitLab repositories, certificates confirming implemented projects, publications, certificates, or other documents are desirable.

The candidate must confirm competence in at least one of the following areas: - Web technologies and server programming - technical knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript ecosystem, Node.js or other server technologies, REST API, database security, and web application architecture; - Python, artificial intelligence, and machine learning - Python, data processing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning basic methods, as well as the use of relevant software tools.

For contestants only in the field of Psycho-diagnostics and Counseling: - Experience in developing and implementing undergraduate and graduate programs; - Experience in teaching at least 3 academic courses provided by the master's educational program in psycho-diagnostics and counseling; - Experience in developing / providing materials for at least 3 academic courses provided by the master's educational program in psycho-diagnostics and counseling; - Practical experience in psycho-consulting; - English language proficiency at least at B2 level

Documentation to be submitted for the competition: - Those wishing to participate in the competition must submit the following documentation to the commission at the stage of submitting documents: - A completed application addressed to the competition commission (the form is available on the website sangu.edu.ge); - An autobiography (CV, in electronic and printed form); - A completed candidate's questionnaire together with an electronic version (on a disk or memory card) (the form to be completed is available on the website sangu.edu.ge) - A copy of the identity card; - One photograph, size 3×4; - Notarized copies of the documents confirming the award of the relevant academic degree(s); (in physical and electronic form) - Documentation confirming scholarships, grants, and other scientific activities; (last 5 years) - Documentation confirming participation in conferences and professional development events; (last 5 years) - Documentation on international cooperation and activities in the relevant field; - A motivational letter;
