The 24-hour shelter for homeless children combines a day center and a crisis intervention overnight shelter.

The goal of the day center is to assess children referred by the mobile team or involved in the service in other ways, provide psychological and medical assistance based on identified needs, and provide formal and informal education to gradually wean children off street life and stably integrate them into the day center services, with the aim of placing them in 24-hour transitional services or other services.

The crisis intervention shelter operates with the day center, and its main goal is to provide emergency shelter and assistance (satisfaction of primary medical and psycho-emotional needs) to children in crisis situations (those living on the streets without supervision, left without housing, victims of violence, etc.) and determine a long-term care form for the child.

The goal of the position: The psychologist's service will contribute to the assessment of the psycho-social needs of the service beneficiaries and the development of their skills in this regard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a personal file for each beneficiary regarding their psychological state;
  • Within 30 days of the child's admission to the day center, assess their functional, psycho-emotional, and academic needs and submit a written conclusion to the day center coordinator for the development of a primary care plan;
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the primary care plan;
  • Develops systematic psycho-social and rehabilitation programs;
  • Uses various techniques to determine the progress of current and completed psychological work: testing, interviews, etc.
  • Provides assistance to beneficiaries' parents/family members through counseling (if they wish);
  • Keeps records of progress in relation to the goals of the primary care plan that require the psychologist's involvement.
  • Provides consultations to day center employees if necessary.

Mandatory Requirements:

** Higher and relevant special education and a document confirming it

** Experience of working with children and young people in an educational institution (at least 2 years)

** Similar work experience (at least 3 years)

** Qualification as a behavioral therapist - desirable

** Communication skills

** Teamwork skills

** Organizational and planning/management skills
