Journalist

"Medscriptum" is an international multimedia platform that connects doctors and healthcare professionals from different parts of the world. Our goal is to provide the public and professional circles with only academic, evidence-based, and reliable information. Today, "Medscriptum" combines a trilingual web platform, a TV show on BMG TV, and a bilingual print journal. To continue our mission and strengthen our platform, we are looking for a Journalist to join the Medscriptum team.

Main responsibilities:

** Finding, processing, and preparing news on current developments in the healthcare and medical fields;

** Preparing in-depth articles on both local and international medical achievements;

** Active coverage of significant events in the Georgian medical ecosystem. ** Attending medical conferences and symposia and preparing relevant materials;

** Planning and conducting interviews with Georgian and foreign doctors, healthcare professionals, and scientists;

** Monitoring and covering reforms and news in the Ministry of Health and related medical institutions;

** Identifying and covering successful cases of Georgian doctors, unique operations, and findings.

** Conveying complex medical/scientific language in a format understandable to a broad audience while maintaining academic accuracy.

Main requirements:

** Higher education in the humanities (medical education is not mandatory but will be considered an advantage);

** Experience working as a journalist/reporter in the media;

** Basic knowledge of the Georgian healthcare ecosystem and interest in covering this field;

** Ability to write fluently and stylishly in Georgian;

** Knowledge of English at a minimum B2 level - speaking/writing-reading (to read and process foreign medical publications, research, and guidelines);

Essential skills:

** Storytelling and critical thinking skills;

** Ability to convey complex medical topics in an interesting way for readers;

** Communication skills, ability to easily establish professional relationships with respondents;

** Desire to independently identify and search for topics and interesting stories;

** Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines;

** High sense of responsibility and respect for journalistic ethics;
