Junior Demi Chef

Restaurant "Iakobi's Yard" is announcing a vacancy for the position of Junior Demi Chef.

Main responsibilities:

Food preparation and production:

Preparing dishes according to established recipes and standards; Pre-preparation of ingredients (mise en place); Correct handling, cutting, preparation, and storage of products; Performing work processes in agreement with the responsible chef; Quality control, visual appearance, and portion sizes of dishes.

Supporting kitchen operations:

Fulfilling tasks of the chef and sauce chef; Assisting in a specific kitchen section (hot/cold kitchen, grill, dessert, etc.); Ensuring fast and efficient work during busy hours; Participating in preparing orders on time and correctly.

Ensuring quality and standards:

Adhering to hotel culinary standards; Controlling taste, temperature, and presentation of dishes; Reducing food waste; Following HACCP and food safety rules.

Hygiene and safety:

Constantly monitoring the cleanliness of the workspace; Correct use of kitchen inventory and equipment; Adhering to sanitary norms; Participating in controlling product storage periods and temperature regimes.

Teamwork:

Effective collaboration with the kitchen team; Communication with servers and other departments when necessary; Assisting new employees in familiarizing them with work processes; Desire for professional development and learning new techniques.

Requirements for the candidate:

Essential:

Experience working in a kitchen; Professional culinary knowledge; High standards of cleanliness and organization; Ability to work at a fast pace; High sense of responsibility.

Desirable:

Experience working in a hotel or high-class restaurant; Knowledge of HACCP standards; Familiarity with different kitchen directions; Knowledge of English or other foreign languages (preferred).

Personal qualities:

Disciplined; Detail-oriented; Ability to work in a stressful environment; Team player; Motivation for learning and development; Creative approach to cuisine.
