Elementary School Teacher

"Tbilisi Georgian-American School" is announcing a vacancy for the position of Elementary School Teacher.

Address: Tbilisi, Isani-Samgori district, Shuumtisi street №21.

Work schedule: Full-time, five days a week (Monday-Friday).

Qualification requirements:

The teaching candidate must meet the requirements established by the Teacher Professional Standard and at least one of the following requirements:

** Hold a Master's degree in Education, obtained by completing an integrated undergraduate-graduate educational program for teacher training (with an indication of the right to teach a specific subject/ subjects at the relevant level of general education);

** Hold a Master's degree in Education (with an indication of the right to teach a specific subject/ subjects at the relevant level of general education) and have a subject-specific competence confirmed in accordance with the procedure established by the Georgian legislation;

** Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic degree in a subject/ subject group provided by the National Curriculum, have completed a teacher training program within the framework of a Bachelor's educational program, and have a subject-specific competence confirmed in accordance with the procedure established by the Georgian legislation;

** Have the right to teach based on a document confirming higher education and have a subject-specific competence confirmed in accordance with the procedure established by the Georgian legislation;

** Hold a Doctor's degree or equivalent academic degree in Education or a subject included in Education;

** Be a certified person before January 1, 2015;

** Be a teacher who was active before 2015;

** Hold a Bachelor's/Master's degree or equivalent academic degree in a subject/ subject group provided by the National Curriculum, and within 2 years of starting work as a teacher, complete a teacher training program or a distance course of a teacher training program.

Competition stages:

** Selection of applications;

** Written assignment (essay/case analysis), which will be provided to the candidate in writing, at the personal email address indicated on www.pedagogi.ge, along with relevant instructions and evaluation criteria, and will be given a reasonable deadline for completion.

** Individual interview;

** Determination of competition results.

** A document confirming higher education;

** A motivational letter.

The candidate selection procedure:

The candidate is evaluated and a decision is made by a special competition commission created by the school's director's order.

A teacher cannot be:

** A person who has been convicted of an intentional crime and has not been removed from conviction;

** A person who has been deprived of the right to engage in pedagogical and educational activities by a court decision due to the consumption of narcotic substances;

** A person who has been convicted of a crime against sexual freedom and inviolability, regardless of the removal of the conviction.

In order to exclude the above circumstances, a teaching candidate, if selected for a vacant position, will be required to provide relevant certificates.
