Psychologist

Association "SOS Children's Village Georgia" within the framework of the Kutaisi Family Strengthening Project, announces a vacancy for a Psychologist position.

Work location: Kutaisi

Workload: Part-time (20 hours per week)

The main goal of the activity: Through psychological assessment / diagnosis and intervention, rehabilitation, psycho-education of project beneficiary children and their parents, and assistance in the development of various skills, including psycho-emotional and childcare skills.

Main functions and responsibilities:

• Psychodiagnostics of each beneficiary and identification of their psychological needs;
• Development of an individual development plan for each beneficiary based on the results of psychodiagnostics;
• Conducting individual and / or group therapy for beneficiaries based on the individual development plan;
• Development of skills in adolescents and children through drawing, music, and play therapy, which are necessary for beneficiaries to function fully in psycho-social terms;
• Conducting personality-developing exercises (volitional, cognitive, emotional, communication) and relaxation activities for children; conducting individual therapy with children as needed;
• Visiting families in special cases;
• Maintaining relevant documentation during work with beneficiaries;
• Developing a work plan, preparing reports on work done, and submitting them to the project coordinator.

Mandatory requirements:

• Higher education with a psychologist qualification
• At least two years of work experience as a psychologist with children and adults
• Knowledge of child and adolescent age-specific features
• Ability to identify and support the interests and abilities of beneficiaries
• Ability to empathize and support beneficiaries
• Effective communication - listening, understanding, and gaining trust;
• Ability to build relationships / teamwork - establishing communication at different levels and providing adequate emotional feedback; working in a team and considering the characteristics of others
• Flexibility and independence
• Self-control and maintaining calm in difficult and stressful situations
• Planning and organization skills
• Writing skills
