JSC "Viani" "M. Yashvili Batumi Maternity and Children's Central Hospital" announces a vacancy for the position of Head of Neonatal Critical Medicine Department.

Main functions and responsibilities:

** Organize and lead the clinical activities of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), implement and ensure evidence-based clinical guidelines, protocols, and standards;

** Ensure the safe, continuous, and quality-standard-compliant functioning of the department in coordination with the Hospital Director/Medical Director;

** Oversee the clinical processes of patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and intensive care;

** Participate in managing complex and high-risk clinical cases, organize consultations as needed, and support clinical decision-making;

** Ensure the smooth organization of patient admission, treatment, internal/external referral, transportation, and discharge processes in the department, in coordination with the Hospital Director;

** Ensure optimal work organization for the department's doctors and nursing team, shifts, and continuous 24/7 clinical coverage within the competence;

** Identify the professional development needs of the department's medical personnel, plan/ coordinate continuous medical education, clinical training, and practical trainings;

** Assess the team's professional competencies and support the clinical adaptation and training process of new employees;

** Manage the subordinate department, effectively distribute employee functions and responsibilities, and systematically evaluate work processes and team performance;

** Monitor and analyze clinical outcomes and quality indicators, and initiate improvement measures based on identified problems;

** Participate/lead in clinical reviews of lethal cases, complications, adverse events, and high-risk cases, and determine corresponding improvement measures;

** Participate in clinical audits, case reviews, and periodic evaluations of the department's clinical practice;

** Control the complete, timely, and clinically/regulatory-compliant production of medical documentation;

** Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control requirements and actively participate in measures to reduce infection risks related to NICU;

** Oversee the safe and rational use of medications, medical devices, and critical resources within the competence;

** Assess the need for medical equipment, consumables, and other resources necessary for the proper functioning of the department and submit relevant proposals;

** Ensure effective clinical collaboration with obstetrics-gynecology, maternity block, pediatric, resuscitation, surgical, diagnostic, and other relevant service teams;

** Comply with standards for effective and ethical communication with patient family members and support the communication process, especially in complex clinical cases;

** Collaborate with the quality management and patient safety team in managing clinical risks, incidents, non-compliances, and improvement measures;

** Monitor department-specific clinical, quality, and operational performance indicators and implement measures aimed at achieving target indicators;

** Comply with and ensure the implementation of hospital internal policies, procedures, clinical standards, professional, and regulatory requirements within the department

Qualification Requirements:

Higher medical education, state certificate in the medical specialty of Neonatology.

Certificates confirming participation in continuous medical education programs.

Work Experience:

At least 5 years of clinical experience; 2 years of experience in a leadership position;
