Academic Positions - Dentistry

The National University of Georgia SEU announces an open competition for the following academic positions at the Faculty of Medicine, effective July 15, 2026:

One-stage English-language dentistry program In the field of therapeutic dentistry:

• Professor - 1 vacancy;
• Associate Professor - 1 vacancy (academic or professional);
• Assistant Professor - 1 vacancy (academic or professional);

In the field of orthopedic dentistry:

• Professor - 1 vacancy;
• Associate Professor - 1 vacancy (academic or professional);
• Assistant Professor - 1 vacancy (academic or professional);

In the field of orthodontic dentistry:

• Professor - 1 vacancy;
• Associate Professor - 1 vacancy (academic or professional);
• Assistant Professor - 1 vacancy (academic or professional);

In the field of maxillofacial surgery:

• Professor - 1 vacancy;
• Associate Professor - 1 vacancy (academic or professional);
• Assistant Professor - 1 vacancy (academic or professional);

For the position of Professor:

• A doctoral or equivalent academic degree;
• At least 6 years of scientific-pedagogical experience at a higher educational institution;
• Authorship/co-authorship of scientific publications in the last 5 years, in the direction of the relevant course topics;
• Vision for academic activity;
• Presentation of the syllabus (s) of the relevant course for the educational program;
• Knowledge of English at a level corresponding to (at least B2) for implementing the educational course;
• For additional clinical directions:
• A state certificate of a relevant/adjacent specialty for medical activity;
• 9 years of clinical experience.

For the position of Associate Professor:

On an academic basis:

• A doctoral or equivalent academic degree;
• At least 3 years of scientific-pedagogical experience at a higher educational institution
• Scientific publications in the last 5 years, in the direction of the relevant course topics;
• Vision for academic activity;
• Presentation of the syllabus (s) of the relevant course for the educational program;
• Knowledge of English at a level corresponding to (at least B2) for implementing the educational course.

For additional clinical directions:

• A state certificate of a relevant/adjacent specialty for medical activity;
• 5 years of clinical experience.

On a professional basis:

** A Master's degree or equivalent academic degree;

** At least 3 years of scientific-pedagogical work experience in a higher educational institution;

** At least 5 years of work experience in the relevant field, related to practical activities in medicine and/or adjacent fields;

** Scientific publications in the field of the relevant course/courses published within the last 10 years;

** Vision of academic activities;

** Presentation of the syllabus (s) of the relevant course/courses of the educational program;

** Knowledge of English at a corresponding level (at least B2) for implementing the course.

For additional clinical directions:

** A state certificate of a relevant/adjacent specialty for medical activities;

** 5 years of clinical experience.

For the position of Assistant Professor:

By academic criteria:

** A doctoral or equivalent academic degree;

** Scientific publications in the field of the relevant course/courses published within the last 10 years;

** Vision of academic activities;

** Presentation of the syllabus (s) of the relevant course/courses of the educational program;

** Knowledge of English at a corresponding level (at least B2) for implementing the course.

** For additional clinical directions:

** A state certificate of a relevant/adjacent specialty for medical activities;

** 3 years of clinical experience.

By professional criteria:

** A Master's degree or equivalent academic degree;

** At least 3 years of work experience in the relevant field, related to practical activities in medicine and/or adjacent fields;

** Presentation of the syllabus (s) of the relevant course/courses of the educational program;

** Vision of academic activities;

** Knowledge of English at a corresponding level (at least B2) for implementing the course.

** For additional clinical directions:

** A state certificate of a relevant/adjacent specialty for medical activities;

** 3 years of clinical experience.

If the number of contestants selected by the main competitive criteria for a specific academic position exceeds the number of competitive vacancies, the following additional criteria will be used to select the winners:

** Practical work experience in the relevant field;

** Participation in scientific conferences, scientific scholarships and grants;

** Participation in professional development events;

** Experience of studying/teaching at foreign universities;

** Experience of working in international organization structures/projects.

Documents to be submitted for the competition:

** Application for participation in the competition, in the established form, indicating the academic position and direction (see attachment);

** The contestant's questionnaire, filled in the established form (see attachment);

** A copy of the identity document;

** A copy of all documents confirming the received education/academic degree (a document issued according to the legally established procedure for recognition of education received abroad and/or scientific degree, if any);
