Position Title: Mobile Group Peer Educator

Work Location: Tbilisi

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week; on-call every 4th day (including weekends and non-working days) in 24-hour shifts

Within the framework of the joint sub-program "Provision of shelters for homeless children" of the international organization World Vision Georgia, the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Protection of Georgia, and the Public Service Agency "State Care and Assistance to Victims of Trafficking", a mobile group operates, aiming to identify street-connected children, register them, connect them with necessary services, and ensure their long-term psychosocial rehabilitation. Within the emergency response program, mobile group members (state social worker, psychologist, peer educator, and administrative worker) commit to responding to hotline calls from the Ministry of Health and emergency cases related to children every 4th day (including non-working hours and days off).

Position Purpose and Main Responsibilities:

The purpose of the position is to assist other mobile group members in finding homeless, street-connected, at-risk, and vulnerable children, removing them from violent situations, transferring them to a safe environment, and establishing communication with them. Additionally, within the 24-hour emergency response mechanism, to work 24-hour shifts every 4th day, respond to received notifications, and protect children from various forms of violence.

The main goal of the role is to easily establish communication and trust with street-connected children, based on their past experience of living/working on the streets or being in state care, and to help the mobile group in the process of gaining trust, sharing their own experiences, to interest children in various services, and to be a role model for them. Accordingly, it is necessary to have experience living/working on the streets or being in state care and to be integrated into society.

** Respond to received notifications within the 24-hour emergency response mechanism in case of emergencies;

** Assist mobile group members in protecting children from repeated violence (re-victimization) within the 24-hour emergency response mechanism, as well as in placing children in a safe environment;

** Act together with other mobile group members in a coordinated and closely coordinated manner;

** Assist the mobile group (based on their experience) in establishing primary communication and rapport with beneficiaries;

** Build trust-based relationships with children and help other group members establish constructive relationships with children;

** Assist mobile group members in finding and identifying street-involved and working children;

** Work together with mobile group members to connect beneficiaries with their services, attachment, and integration into society;

** If required by the senior social worker of the mobile group, perform the functions of a minor's procedural representative in law enforcement agencies.

** Comply with the organization's internal policies and act in accordance with the Child and Adult Beneficiary Protection Behavior Protocol

** Perform other position-related responsibilities within the competence of the manager's instructions

Qualification requirements:

Since a peer educator helps the mobile group establish communication and gain trust with street-involved children and must be a role model for them, it is necessary to have experience living on the streets/working/in state care, and also to be integrated into society. Also:

** Strong communication skills;

** Knowledge of the needs and challenges of street-involved and working children;

** Sense of responsibility;

** Teamwork;

** Ability to react calmly in difficult situations;
