"Black Sea International University" from August 06, 2026, announces an open competition for the academic positions of Professor and Associate Professor in the following fields:

Competition vacancies:

** Data Science and Data Engineering: Professor - 1 vacancy

** Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Professor - 1 vacancy

** Software Engineering: Associate Professor - 1 vacancy

** Intelligent, Autonomous, and Cyber-Physical Systems: Associate Professor - 1 vacancy

** Cybersecurity: Associate Professor - 1 vacancy

A person will be selected for the academic position of Professor and Associate Professor for a term of 4 years.

To occupy the academic position, the candidate must meet the requirements established for the competitive vacancy according to the following criteria.

For the academic position of Professor:

** Doctor's or equivalent academic degree

** At least 6 (six) years of scientific and pedagogical experience in a higher educational institution

** Vision of academic activity

** Presentation of the syllabus (s) of the relevant educational program's course/courses

** B2+ level English language proficiency document

** Authorship or co-authorship of scientific papers published in the relevant field of study, computer science, artificial intelligence, or related fields within the last 5 years, including publications in journals indexed by Scopus or Web of Science Core Collection and conference proceedings. Preference will be given to articles published in Q1 or Q2 quartile journals

** If citation indicators are available, the candidate must provide links to Google Scholar and Scopus or Web of Science author profiles, indicating the corresponding h-index and number of citations

** Practical, research, or industry experience in the relevant field, which can be confirmed by implemented applied projects, created or implemented algorithms, artificial intelligence models, software products, data analysis, and intelligent system solutions, participation in international/local grant projects (with role indication), membership in professional networks, or international expert activity in the field

Note: Preference will be given to candidates with better performance indicators.

** A doctoral or equivalent academic degree

** At least 3 years of experience in scientific-pedagogical work at a higher educational institution

** Vision for academic activity

** Presentation of the syllabus (syllabi) of the relevant educational program's course/courses

** Document confirming English language proficiency at B2+ level

** Authorship or co-authorship of scientific papers published in the last 5 years in the relevant field of study, computer science, artificial intelligence, or related fields, including publications in journals indexed by Scopus or Web of Science Core Collection. Preference will be given to articles published in Q1 or Q2 quartile journals

If the number of contestants selected for a specific academic position based on the main competitive criteria exceeds the number of competitive vacancies, the following additional criteria will be used to select the winners:

** Practical experience working in the relevant field

** Participation in scientific conferences, scientific scholarships, and grants

** Participation in professional development events

** Experience studying/teaching at foreign universities

** Experience working in international organization structures/projects

Documents to be submitted for the competition:

** Application for participation in the competition, in the established form (indicate only one position/direction) (see attachment)

** Candidate's questionnaire, filled in the established form (see attachment)

** Copy of the identity document

** Copies of all documents confirming the received education/academic degree (a document issued according to the legally established procedure for recognition of education or scientific degree obtained abroad, if any)

** Documents confirming scientific-pedagogical activity and/or relevant professional experience in the corresponding direction

** Vision of academic activity

** Publications

** Syllabi of the relevant program's constituent/offered courses

** Certificate "on conviction for crimes against sexual freedom and inviolability"

** Certificate "on deprivation of rights" (according to the legislation of Georgia, employment/activity in a higher educational institution is prohibited for a person convicted of sexual crimes or deprived of the right to work in an educational institution by a court decision)

** Document confirming the level of English language proficiency (at least B2+)

** 3-year vision of scientific research in the relevant field (the quality of which will be evaluated by external assessors/experts, while maintaining anonymity)
