"Black Sea International University" announces an open competition for the position of Associate Professor at the School of Law, effective July 23, 2026, in the following fields: Private Law, Public Law, and Criminal Law.

Competition vacancies:

In the field of Private Law:

** Associate Professor - 1 vacancy (academic position);

** Associate Professor - 1 vacancy (professional position);

In the field of Public Law:

** Associate Professor - 1 vacancy (professional position);

In the field of Criminal Law:

** Associate Professor - 2 vacancies (academic position).

The selected candidate for the Associate Professor position will be appointed for a term of 4 years.

To participate in the competition, candidates must meet the required (academic/professional) criteria for the specific vacancy, as outlined below:

For the Associate Professor position - academic position:

** A doctoral or equivalent academic degree;

** At least 3 years of scientific-pedagogical experience at a higher educational institution;

** Authorship/co-authorship of scientific publications in the relevant field of study within the last 5 years;

** Vision for academic activity;

** Presentation of the syllabus (syllabi) for the relevant educational program.

For the Associate Professor position - professional position:

** At least a master's or equivalent academic degree;

** At least 5 years of experience in the relevant field, related to practical activities;

** At least 3 years of scientific-pedagogical experience at a higher educational institution;

** Scientific publications in the relevant field of study within the last 10 years;

** Vision for academic activity;

** Presentation of the syllabus (syllabi) for the relevant educational program.

If the number of candidates selected based on the main competition criteria exceeds the number of vacancies, the following additional criteria will be used to select the winners:

** Practical experience in the relevant field;

** Participation in scientific conferences, scholarships, and grants;

** Participation in professional development events;

** Knowledge of foreign languages (with preference for English);

** Experience studying/teaching at European universities;

** Experience working in international organizations/projects.

Documentation to be submitted for the competition:

** Application for participation in the competition, in the established form (see attachment);

** The contestant's questionnaire, filled in the established form (see attachment);

** A copy of the identity document;

** A copy of all documents confirming the received education/academic degree (a document issued according to the legally established procedure for recognition of education or scientific degree obtained abroad, if any);

** Documents confirming scientific-pedagogical activity and/or professional experience in the relevant field (certificate, a copy of the work book, etc.);

** Vision of academic activity (teaching, research, public activity);

** Syllabi of the relevant program's constituent/offered courses;

** Other documentation confirming compliance with the main and additional criteria (if any);

** A certificate "on conviction for crimes against sexual freedom and inviolability" and a certificate "on deprivation of rights" (according to the legislation of Georgia, employment/activity in a higher education institution is prohibited for a person convicted of sexual crimes or deprived of the right to work in an educational institution by a court).

The contestant's competitive documents, in accordance with the Georgian Law "On Personal Data Protection," may contain personal data, including special category data. The contestant should consider that their personal data will be processed by the university for the purpose of making a decision on establishing an employment relationship. By sending the competitive documentation, you automatically agree to the above conditions.

When participating in the competition to fill an academic position, the contestant's prior consent to the university's affiliation, declared in advance, may be considered by the competition commission as a basis for granting preference in the selection of candidates with equal data and should not be perceived as any form of discrimination. At the same time, prior consent to affiliation does not guarantee selection for an academic position.

The competition will be held in two stages:

1. Selection of contestants based on the submitted documentation (in the absence of contestants);

2. Interview with the selected contestants and the competition commission (the interview schedule and time will be notified personally).
