"World Vision Georgia" is announcing a vacancy for a Cook position at the 24-hour shelter for homeless children.

Location: Tbilisi, Gldani Center

Work schedule: Two days of shift work, two days of rest, up to 40 hours per month

The 24-hour shelter for homeless children combines a day center and a crisis intervention overnight shelter.

The day center aims to assess children referred by the mobile team or involved in the service in other ways, provide psychological and medical assistance based on identified needs, and provide formal and informal education to gradually wean children off street life and stably integrate them into the day center services, with the goal of placing them in 24-hour transitional services or other services.

The day center operates in conjunction with a crisis intervention shelter, whose main goal is to provide emergency shelter and assistance (satisfaction of primary medical and psycho-emotional needs) to children in crisis situations (those living on the streets without supervision, those left without housing, victims of violence, etc.) and determine a long-term care arrangement for the child.

Position purpose: To prepare food for the day center and crisis intervention overnight shelter residents, ensuring compliance with relevant sanitary and hygienic norms, and to distribute food to ensure the smooth functioning of the day center.

Main responsibilities:

• Responsible for feeding children, preparing breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to a predetermined menu;
• Comply with sanitary and hygienic norms at the workplace;
• Ensure the cleanliness of the workplace and kitchen equipment;
• Prepare various dishes according to the menu;
• Distribute food according to established regulations;
• Be aware of and consider the dietary needs of children;
• Care for children's hygiene;
• Within the scope of their competence, care for the well-being of children;
• Actively cooperate with day center staff and coordinator-leader;
• Comply with the internal regulations/standards of the day center and overnight shelter
• Perform other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor within the scope of their position.

• Positive and constructive communication approach (especially when interacting with children).
