Academic Positions

LLC "Tbilisi Humanitarian University" (hereinafter - THU) announces an open competition for the following academic positions:

1. Faculty of Healthcare:

** For the Russian-language one-stage educational program in Stomatology: 1 Professor (Biology direction).

** In the direction of Stomatology: 1 Leading Professor.

2. Faculty of Law, Business, Humanities and Social Sciences

** In the direction of Law: 1 Leading Professor. ** In the direction of Business Administration: 1 Leading Professor. ** In the direction of Psychology: 1 Leading Professor. ** In the direction of Philology: 1 Leading Professor.

Competition conditions:

Leading Professor

A person may be elected to the academic position of Leading Professor for 8 years if: ** He/She has a doctoral academic degree or an equivalent academic degree; ** Has at least 8 years of scientific-pedagogical work experience, and in the case of one-stage educational programs, additionally has clinical experience of at least 9 years; ** Has published 3 scientific papers in the last 5 years, which confirm his/her competence in the relevant field; ** Presents a syllabus/syllabi prepared in the relevant academic discipline, provided by the educational program implemented by the relevant faculty, in electronic and printed form; ** Meets other competition conditions approved by the legislation of Georgia and/or the Academic Council of THU;

Professor

A person may be elected to the academic position of Professor for 6 years if: ** He/She has a doctoral academic degree or an equivalent academic degree; ** Has at least 6 years of scientific-pedagogical work experience; ** Has published 3 scientific papers in the last 5 years, which confirm his/her competence in the relevant field; ** Presents a syllabus/syllabi prepared in the relevant academic discipline, provided by the educational program implemented by the relevant faculty, in electronic and printed form; ** Meets other competition conditions approved by the legislation of Georgia and/or the Academic Council of THU.

Additional Information: Labor relations and affiliation with academic personnel arising.

** A candidate can submit an application for only one academic position.

** After the academic personnel is selected through an open competition, the Rector of THU will issue an order to appoint them to academic positions.

** Additionally, a labor contract will be concluded with the academic personnel for the term of their selection to the academic position, in accordance with the Georgian labor legislation.

** Academic personnel is affiliated with the university if: they have a labor contract with the university and do not have an affiliation agreement or an employment contract confirming affiliation with another higher education institution; they participate in the development of society and knowledge sharing only on their own or on behalf of THU; they have a corresponding minimum academic workload at THU, determined by the Rector's order.

** Affiliated academic personnel are not obliged to fulfill the corresponding minimum academic workload if: they do not cooperate with any other higher education institution; they are employed in parallel at the university in an administrative/auxiliary (non-academic) position.

** A labor contract is concluded with academic personnel who is not affiliated with the university.

Criteria for Academic Personnel of Foreign Language Programs

** For a competition announced to implement a foreign language program or a foreign language component of a program, an additional criterion is the confirmation of the candidate's language competence in the language of the program's component, if that language is not the candidate's native language.

** The candidate's language competence will be considered confirmed in one of the following cases:

• If they present a document confirming higher education received in the relevant language;

• If they present an internationally recognized certificate of language competence, which confirms that the candidate has a language proficiency of at least B2 level, in accordance with the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR);

• If they present a certificate confirming three years of experience in teaching a foreign language program at a higher education institution authorized in Georgia;

** A participant in the academic competition who cannot confirm their language competence in the manner established by paragraph 5.2 is obliged to conduct a demonstration lecture in a foreign language or pass a language competence test using a test prepared by the university. The test questions and competence threshold will be determined by the university.

The candidate participating in the competition must submit to the selection committee:

** A copy of a Georgian citizen's ID card;

** 2 photos, 3x4 size;

** Copies of diplomas confirming academic degrees; in case of a foreign diploma - a notarized translation;

** Documents confirming teaching experience;

** A list of published works over the last 10 years, textbooks, monographs, articles in printed form or copies;

** A document confirming foreign language proficiency;
