"Tbilisi Zoological Park" Gardener Job Description:

Work Schedule and Accountability:

** Subordination: The gardener reports directly to the Head of the Welfare Service.

** Work Schedule: Determined according to the internal regulations of the zoo and the labor contract. Five working days and two days off, from 10:00 to 18:00, with a one-hour break.

Salary: 1200 GEL

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

** Monitoring and Response: Daily inspection of the condition of the green areas (trees, bushes, flowers, lawns) and irrigation systems on the zoo's territory.

** Reporting: Immediate notification of the Head of the Welfare Service in case of any damage or problem.

** Seasonal Work: Implementation of seasonal activities related to landscaping, soil preparation, and plant transplantation.

** Planting and Sowing: Planting, sowing, and subsequent care of seedlings, bushes, trees, and flowers.

** Lawn Care: Regular mowing, trimming, and maintaining the aesthetic appearance of lawns.

** Agrotechnical Work: Soil processing, application of mineral fertilizers, and timely, systematic watering of plants.

** Plant Protection: Cleaning, pruning, spraying disinfectants, and taking preventive measures against diseases.

** Inventory Maintenance: Maintenance, storage, and repair of work tools and equipment within one's competence.

** Territory Cleaning: Cleaning the work area of green waste during and after the work process.

Specific Safety Rules (zoo environment):

** Working with Enclosures: Plant care in or near enclosures is only carried out with the permission and accompaniment of the relevant curator/caretaker.

** Inventory Safety: It is strictly prohibited to leave work tools (pruning shears, machete, saw) unattended on the territory to avoid injuring animals.

** Contact with Animals: It is strictly prohibited to arbitrarily approach animals, feed them, or disturb them with noisy equipment (e.g., lawn mower) near enclosures without agreement with the curator.

** Control of Harmful Plants: Timely identification and removal of plants toxic or allergic to animals from the perimeter of enclosures.

Qualification Requirements:

** Education: Professional or higher education in agronomy, horticulture, or landscape design (considered an advantage).

** Experience: Experience working as a gardener or in the field of landscaping (considered an advantage).

** Knowledge: Knowledge of plant care, soil processing, fertilizer application, and irrigation system operation principles.

** Skills: Experience working with agricultural machinery (chainsaw, mower) and physical endurance.
