The National Bank of Georgia announces an internship competition in the Specialized Risks Department

About the National Bank of Georgia: The main mandate of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) is to ensure price stability and promote financial stability. In recent years, cyber risks have been identified as one of the significant challenges to financial stability in the global financial sector. The NBG's Cyber Risk Supervision Division, within the mandate granted by the law, assesses the compliance of supervisory subjects (commercial banks, digital banks, microbanks, and other financial institutions) with the requirements of the cyber security management framework and identifies relevant risk factors.

About the internship: Interns in the Cyber Risk Supervision Division will have the opportunity to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the following areas:

Information and cyber security regulatory legislation Interns will get familiar with the role of the National Bank in ensuring information security on a countrywide scale and in relation to the NBG's mandate with the financial sector. They will also study the requirements for supervisory subjects in the field of cyber security.

Information and cyber security risk management Interns will study key issues of security risk management, analysis, and evaluation of relevant criteria using modeled case studies. They will also gain practical experience in reporting and documentation.

Incident review Interns will get familiar with the reporting instruments used in the cyber risk supervision process, participate in the discussion of modeled incidents, and compile a documented report. They will also determine the need for additional supervisory measures.

Security techniques Interns will get familiar with network security, database and system administration security, data leakage prevention, system and network configuration, change management, access rights security, and other relevant technical and technological issues.

On-site inspection of the supervisory subject Interns will have the opportunity to learn how the organization of on-site inspections of supervisory subjects is carried out.

By observing and directly participating in the work process of the NBG, interns will develop the skills required for cyber risk supervision specialists at the NBG, including:

• Ability to interpret internationally recognized principles and criteria for information and cyber security relevantly;

• Analytical/critical analysis and reporting skills;

• High standard writing and presentation skills.

Requirements for internship candidate:

• Student of the final year of bachelor's degree or graduate;

• Candidate must have basic knowledge of internationally recognized standards for information security;

• Candidate must have good knowledge of office programs;

• English language - B2.

Competencies and skills:

• Critical thinking;

• Ability to perform different types of tasks quickly (Multitasking);

• Communication and writing skills.

Intern selection process:

First stage: Evaluation of applications and determination of compliance with formal requirements defined by the application;

Second stage: Written assignment, its review and evaluation by the National Bank;

• Cyber incident and response principles;

• Information and cyber security risk management life cycle.

Third stage:

• Interview with candidates who successfully pass the second stage of selection.
