Lead Java Developer (on-site in Saudi Arabia)

Andersen is hiring a Lead Java Developer to work on-site in Saudi Arabia for a project delivering scalable digital solutions for public and private sector organizations. The customer is an established organization focused on supporting economic and organizational development through technology-enabled solutions and professional services. It develops digital platforms, automation tools, and business programs that help organizations improve operational efficiency, expand capabilities, and respond to evolving market needs. This project is focused on delivering digital and technology solutions for government, semi-government, and private sector organizations. It supports diverse business needs through the development and implementation of reliable, scalable, and efficient solutions.

Responsibilities: - Providing technical leadership and architectural guidance across multiple project streams. - Supporting teams in designing, reviewing, and improving backend and frontend solutions. - Participating in key technical decisions and helping ensure scalability, maintainability, and alignment with engineering standards. - Reviewing existing implementations, identify technical risks, and recommend improvements or alternative approaches. - Working closely with developers, stakeholders, and other technical leads to clarify requirements and unblock delivery. - Mentoring engineers, conducting design and code reviews, and supporting teams with complex technical issues. - Contributing to technical documentation, architecture decisions, and continuous improvement of development practices.

Requirements: - Professional software development experience for 6+ years. - Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring ecosystem. - Proven experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or similar technical leadership role. - Strong understanding of software architecture and ability to participate in architectural design and technical decision-making. - Ability to review existing systems and provide architecture and engineering recommendations. - Experience supporting several teams or project streams simultaneously. - Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD). - Good understanding of modular monolith and microservices architectures. - Strong knowledge of Spring Boot / Spring Framework. - Experience with Spring Data and Spring Security. - Understanding of Spring Modulith concepts. - Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs. - Strong understanding of distributed systems and application dependencies. - Experience with relational databases and complex data models. - Experience with PostgreSQL or similar SQL databases. - Experience with Redis. - Experience with cloud-based systems and cloud architecture. - Experience deploying and operating applications in Kubernetes. - Understanding of highly available and stateless application design. - Experience with CI/CD and Git-based development workflows. - Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills. - Understanding of SOLID principles, clean code, automated testing, and TDD. - Experience with technical documentation and architecture/design documentation. - Ability to conduct code and design reviews. - Level of English – Upper-Intermediate and above.

Nice to have: - Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). - Experience with Spring Modulith in production environments. - Experience with reactive programming / non-blocking I/O. - Experience with RabbitMQ or similar messaging technologies. - Experience with Elasticsearch. - Experience with IoT or embedded systems. - Experience with video processing or video analytics solutions. - Experience with large-scale or high-load systems. - Experience with system migrations and modernization of legacy applications. - Linux-oriented engineering background. - Previous experience working onsite in Saudi Arabia, GCC, or the Middle East.

Compensation: 4000–7500 EUR per month.
