Peer Educator

"Caritas Georgia" is announcing a vacancy for a Peer Educator position.

Program/Project: Inclusive Education Support Project

Type of employment: Contract

Work schedule: 40 hours per week.

Duration: 3-month probationary period;

Location: Tbilisi

Job purpose:

The goal is to increase the involvement of school students in the inclusive education process by introducing a peer education system. Within the framework of the Caritas Georgia's Inclusive Education Support Program, the selected candidates will be involved in the process of preparing topics on inclusive education, organizing informational meetings on inclusive education in target schools, and teaching presentation and "active student" techniques to students.

Job responsibilities:

• Create a peer education model together with the program team;
• Present the inclusive education and peer education program in pilot schools;
• Select and train volunteer students as peer educators;
• Develop a plan of activities for peer educators together with students;
• Assist students in implementing presentations and activities;
• Encourage the involvement of teachers (class teachers, subject teachers) in the process of introducing peer education;
• Present the successes and challenges of the project to the program team and other stakeholders.

Qualification requirements:

Education, experience, skills:

Required:

• Higher education, preferably in inclusive education, psychology, or related fields;
• At least 1 year of experience working in a school setting;
• Experience in organizing presentations and meetings with students;
• Experience working with people with disabilities.

Desirable skills and abilities:

• Interest in the field of education/inclusive education;
• Good verbal communication skills;
• Time management/organizational skills;
• Ability to work both individually and as a team.
