Academic Competition - Business School

"Black Sea International University" from August 6, 2026, announces an open competition for the academic positions of Professor and Associate Professor at the Business School, in the following fields:

Fields, competitive vacancies:

• Management - Professor - 1 vacancy; Associate Professor - 1 vacancy;
• Finance - Professor - 1 vacancy; Associate Professor - 1 vacancy;
• Marketing - Associate Professor - 2 vacancies;
• Economics - Associate Professor - 1 vacancy;
• Accounting and Audit - Professor - 1 vacancy;

A person for the academic position of Professor and Associate Professor is elected for a term of 4 years.

The candidate for the academic position must meet the requirements established for the competitive vacancy, according to the following criteria:

For the academic position of Professor:

• Doctor's or equivalent academic degree;
• At least 6 (six) years of scientific and pedagogical experience at a higher educational institution;
• Vision of academic activity;
• Presentation of the syllabus (s) of the relevant educational program's course/courses;
• Document confirming English language proficiency at B2+ level;
• Authorship/co-authorship of scientific publications published in the last 5 (five) years in the direction of the relevant course/course themes, which must meet one of the requirements specified below:
• Scientific articles published in Scopus or Web of Science Core Collection (SCIE, SSCI, AHCI) indexes. When evaluating, preference will be given to papers published in journals of Q1 or Q2 quartiles (according to Journal Citation Reports or Scopus/SJR classification). For business and management fields, the CABS Academic Journal Guide (AJG) rating will also be considered.
• For the purpose of evaluating citation indicators, the candidate must provide links to Google Scholar and Scopus/Web of Science Researcher Profile, indicating the relevant h-index and citation indicators.
• Practical experience in the relevant field. In particular, implemented applied research and/or business cases (Case Studies), and/or industrial consulting projects, and/or international grants.

Note: Preference will be given to the person with better indicators.

For the academic position of Associate Professor:

** A doctoral or equivalent academic degree;

** At least 3 (three) years of experience in scientific-pedagogical work at a higher educational institution;

** Vision for academic activity;

** Presentation of the syllabus (syllabi) of the relevant educational program;

** A document confirming English language proficiency at the B2+ level

** Authorship/co-authorship of scientific publications in the field of the relevant course(s) published within the last 5 (five) years, which must meet one of the requirements specified below:

** Scientific articles published in Scopus or Web of Science Core Collection (SCIE, SSCI, AHCI) indexes. When evaluating, preference will be given to papers published in journals in the Q1 or Q2 quartile (according to Journal Citation Reports or Scopus/SJR classification). For business and management fields, the CABS Academic Journal Guide (AJG) rating will also be considered.

If the number of contestants selected for a specific academic position based on the main competitive criteria exceeds the number of competitive vacancies, the following additional criteria will be used to select the winners:

** Practical experience of working in the relevant field;

** Participation in scientific conferences, scientific scholarships and grants;

** Participation in professional development events;

** Experience of studying/teaching at foreign universities;

** Experience of working in international organization structures/projects.

Documents to be submitted for the competition:

** Application for participation in the competition, in the established form (indicate only one position/direction) (see attachment);

** The contestant's questionnaire, filled out in the established form (see attachment);

** A copy of the identity document;

** A copy of all documents confirming the received education/academic degree (a document issued according to the legally established procedure for recognition of education or scientific degree obtained abroad, if any);

** Documents confirming scientific-pedagogical activity and/or relevant professional experience in the corresponding direction;

** Vision of academic activity;

** Publications;

** Syllabi of the relevant program's constituent/offered courses;

** A certificate "on conviction for crimes against sexual freedom and inviolability";

** A certificate "on deprivation of rights" (according to Georgian legislation, employment/activity in a higher education institution is prohibited for a person convicted of sexual crimes or a person whose right to work in an educational institution has been revoked by a court);

** A document confirming the level of English language proficiency (at least B2+);

** A 3-year vision of scientific research in the relevant field (the quality of which will be assessed by external evaluators/experts, while maintaining anonymity);

** A report on scientific research activities carried out over the last 3-5 years;
