About the position The Secondary Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical engineering, configuration management, and final grid integration of the secondary networks of the wind power plant. This includes substation automation protective relays, SCADA control systems, telecommunication networks, commercial metering, and full dispatching telemetry interfaced with the Georgian National Grid control.
Key Responsibilities - Verify and optimize schematic control architecture, protective wiring guides, blocking logic tables, and layout plans for all protection and automation panels. - Calculate and determine protective relay parameters (line protection, transformer differential schemes, line and busbar configurations, and direct logic configuration mapping). - Electrical, testing, and programming of substation automation systems (SAS), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), and Remote Terminal Units (RTU) with strict adherence to IEC 61850 data network protocols. - Coordinate telemetry channels, fiber optic communication rings, and remote telecommunication architectures directly with the Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE) in the dispatching hierarchy. - Diagnose operational faults in secondary equipment and lead on-site relay testing, cold/hot start-up cycles, and synchronization procedures with the power system.
Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Power Engineering, Control Systems and Automation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical specialty. - 3 to 5+ years of active field experience, specializing in protective relay calculation, secondary engineering electrical, or high-voltage SCADA system commissioning. - Knowledge and practical application of IEC 61850 protocol with leading industrial hardware suppliers (e.g., NARI, Siemens, ABB, NR Electric). - Familiarity with the Georgian grid code, specifically telemetry dispatching rules and communication reliability indices. - Excellent professional English language skills. Conversational or professional Chinese language skills will be considered an advantage.
