Microbial Genetics and Ecology Laboratory Researcher

The University of Georgia, School of Science and Technology, is announcing a vacancy for the position of Researcher at the Microbial Genetics and Ecology Laboratory.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Conducting scientific research using microbiological and molecular-genetic methods implemented in the Microbial Genetics and Ecology Laboratory;
• Bioinformatics analysis of obtained results;

• Optimization of laboratory methods and implementation of new methods;

• Development of standard operating procedures;

• Maintaining laboratory records;

• Participation in preparing scientific articles;

• Adherence to biosafety norms.

Qualification requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in natural sciences, with a focus on biology;

• At least 1 year of experience working in a microbial, molecular biology, or medical laboratory;

• Knowledge of microbiological and molecular-genetic methods;

• Familiarity with bioinformatics programs - BLAST, MEGA, Python, R;

• English language proficiency at C1 level.

Required skills:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

• Detail-oriented;

• High sense of responsibility;

• Effective problem-solving skills;

• Ability to quickly master new methods.

Working conditions:

• Full-time position;
