Open Competition for Academic Positions

LLC University Geomedi, based on the Georgian Law "On Higher Education" (Articles 34, 35) and the rules of selection and appointment of academic personnel, announces an open competition for the following academic positions at the faculties of Stomatology, Medicine (one-stage Georgian and English educational programs for diplomaed medical doctors), Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Health Economics and Management:

• Leading Professor – 1 vacancy (direction: Stomatology)

Faculty of Medicine: - Leading Professor – 2 vacancies (directions: Biosmedical, Clinical) - Associate Professor – 2 vacancies (directions: Hematology, Gynecology) - Assistant Professor – 3 vacancies (directions: Geriatrics, Biochemistry, Clinical Radiology) - Assistant – 2 vacancies (directions: Internal Diseases, Traumatology-Orthopedics)

Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation: - Leading Professor – 1 vacancy (direction: Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation)

Faculty of Health Economics and Management: - Leading Professor – 1 vacancy (direction: Management)

A leading professor and associate professor will be elected for a term of 7 (seven) years, while an assistant professor and assistant will be elected for a term of 3 (three) years.

A person with a doctoral or equivalent academic degree, having at least 8 years of scientific-pedagogical experience, and outstanding scientific achievements (published scientific papers in leading local and international journals and other publications in the last 5 years, participation in national and international scientific-research projects, etc.) may be elected to the position of leading professor. In the case of clinical disciplines/directions, they must also have at least 9 years of clinical experience, and a state certificate of specialty corresponding to the clinical discipline.

A person with a doctoral or equivalent academic degree, having at least 3 years of scientific-pedagogical experience, published scientific papers in the last 5 years, clinical experience in the last 5 years, and a state certificate of specialty corresponding to the clinical discipline may be elected to the position of associate professor.

A person with a doctoral or equivalent academic degree, having published scientific papers in the last 5 years, may be elected to the position of assistant professor. In the case of clinical disciplines/directions, they must also have at least 3 years of clinical experience, and a state certificate of specialty corresponding to the clinical discipline.

A doctoral student (a person studying in a doctoral program in a clinical specialty) who has a state certificate of a relevant specialty in a clinical discipline can be selected for the position of assistant.

In order to participate in the competition for an academic position, the applicant must submit the following documentation within the specified timeframe and conditions: - a An application addressed to the Competition Committee (the application can be submitted onsite or electronically to the email address of the Head of the Human Resources Management Service, in the established form, Annex 1); - b) A copy of the document confirming identity (passport, ID card); - c) A copy of the document confirming the relevant academic degree (a document issued according to the established procedure for recognition of education or scientific degree obtained in a foreign country, if applicable); - d) A document confirming teaching experience (submission of this document is not required for the positions of assistant professor and assistant); - e) A list of scientific publications, participation in scientific conferences and symposia published within the last 5 years (if applicable). - f) Information on participation in scientific research projects within the last 5 years (required for the position of leading professor). - g) Autobiography CV (in Georgian and English); - h) Relevant syllabus (submission of a syllabus is not required for the position of assistant); - i) Two electronic photos (on CD); - j) A concept of scientific research work. - k) A certificate about not having been convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and inviolability. - l) In the case of clinical disciplines: a certificate confirming clinical work experience issued according to the established procedure and a state certificate of relevant specialty. - m) For academic positions in clinical fields, applicants not working in the university's contractor clinics must submit a letter of consent from the head of the clinic (Annex 2) where the educational process will be implemented. - n) In the case of implementing a one-cycle English-language educational program for medical students, the applicant must submit documentation confirming at least 3 years of teaching experience in an English-language program, or documentation confirming at least 1 year of medical practice in a foreign clinic in English, or documentation confirming at least 1 year of educational or research activities in English in a foreign research institution in the field of biomedicine, or a document confirming completion of an English-language pre-diploma or post-diploma program, or an internationally recognized certificate of English language proficiency at least at B2 level (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English, UNIcert, EnglishScore, etc.), or pass a test in English. The test questions and competence threshold will be determined by the university.
