About the position:
We are looking for an experienced and highly qualified Senior Data Engineer responsible for creating a modern data platform on Databricks in the Azure environment. In this position, you will be a member of the BI team and work on creating a scalable Lakehouse architecture, as well as lead data and business logic migration processes from legacy systems (SAP BW and SSIS) to cloud infrastructure.
Job description:
Design, develop, and support end-to-end data pipelines on Databricks using PySpark and SQL
Lead the migration of data processes and models from legacy systems (SAP BW, SSIS) to Cloud Medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold)
Create and optimize data layers for BI tools (Qlik and Power BI) to ensure high performance
Integrate various sources, including SAP, MS SQL Server, and Salesforce
Implement Data Governance, security standards, and access management using Unity Catalog
Performance tuning and cost optimization of Databricks clusters and jobs
Technical experience:
At least 3 years of practical experience with Databricks - in-depth knowledge of Spark (PySpark/SQL), Delta Lake, and performance tuning (mandatory)
Experience working in the Azure ecosystem (Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2) (mandatory)
High-level knowledge of Python and SQL
Significant advantages:
Experience working with data sources: MS SQL Server and Salesforce
Experience working with SAP systems (preferably S/4HANA)
Knowledge of SAP BW (understanding objects and models for migration)
Knowledge of SSIS processes and the ability to transform them into Spark
Relevant certificates (e.g., Databricks Data Engineer Associate / Professional)
