About the position The Chief Electrical Engineer leads the technical assessment, electrical optimization, and specification definition of all high-voltage primary systems (up to 500 kV) of the wind power plant and its connected substation to the grid. The position ensures that the high-power electrical architecture fully complies with Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE) network codes and international standards.
Key Responsibilities - Review and approve complex high-voltage primary layout schemes, single-line diagrams (SLDs), lightning protection screening, grounding networks, and main connection logic. - Perform and verify basic engineering calculations: short-circuit current limits, load flow dynamics, reactive power management, insulation coordination, and busbar mechanical stress calculations. - Approve detailed engineering specifications for the procurement of major capital equipment: 500 kV/220 kV main transformers, SF6 gas-insulated switchgears (GIS), surge arresters, and static reactive power generators (SVG). - Collaborate intensively with Georgian electrical institutes and GSE's engineering groups to expedite official approvals and obtain technical grid compliance certificates. - Provide expert engineering support during procurement and onsite high-voltage equipment commissioning stages; ensure smooth power plant operation during commercial exploitation.
Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, and Automation or High-Voltage Engineering. - At least 5 years of professional electrical or electrical review experience in high-voltage substations (from 110 kV to 500 kV) or utility-scale renewable energy assets. - In-depth knowledge of international electrotechnical standards (IEC, IEEE) and their interaction with Georgian national technical regulations (GSE-used GOST/SST equivalents). - Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, CYME software. - Fluent technical English is mandatory. Knowledge of Georgian or Chinese is considered an advantage.
