Read and translate a CV without downloading it

Reading an application used to mean downloading a stranger's file onto your own computer. Now the CV opens in the page, and downloading is one click if you still want the file.

Beside it there is a text view and a Translate button. A CV written in Georgian can be read in Russian or English and the other way round, so a good candidate is not skipped because of the language they wrote in. The translation runs on our own infrastructure rather than being sent to an outside service, and the original is always one tab away, because a hiring decision should rest on what the person actually wrote.

Uploads are now inspected before they go anywhere: documents carrying macros, embedded programs or auto-running content are refused, with a message asking for a plain PDF instead. That matters because a CV is attached to the mail we send employers, and "send us your CV" is a well-worn route into a recruiter's machine.
