Senior Class Coordinator/Housemaster

"Baxwood School - Tbilisi" is announcing a vacancy for the position of Senior Class Coordinator (Housemaster) for the 2026-2027 academic year at the Tsineti campus.

"Baxwood International School" was established in 2000 as the United Nations Association International School in Tbilisi. In 2007, the school moved to Upper Tsineti, where it received the name "Baxwood School" in 2009. Thus, the first educational space in Georgia was created, based on the traditional British educational model, which already has 26 years of experience in the field of education.

Since 2023, a new campus of "Baxwood School" is operating on Gelovani.

Job Description

At "Baxwood School", the Housemaster is one of the important links of the senior stage, who coordinates the school life of students of different age groups / houses and their educational processes. The Housemaster's primary mission is to take care of the well-being of students in their own house, their maximum realization of their abilities, and healthy and friendly relationships.

Working hours: 09:30 - 17:00 (Monday-Friday)

The main functions of the Housemaster include:

Development and implementation of relevant educational programs and materials based on the national curriculum and Baxwood's school curriculum (tutorial, psychological, cognitive, etc.); Supervision and support of the class / house during lunch, breaks, and lessons preparation; Planning and implementation of classroom and extracurricular activities (excursions, hikes, cognitive or sports events, etc.) Implementation of an individual approach to students, including ensuring / coordinating the implementation of an individual curriculum (if necessary); Intensive and operational communication with parents (e-diary, social network, phone connection, open door day, individual meeting, if necessary, planning a parent's visit); Constant communication with subject teachers on issues related to students' academic and personal development or behavior.

Rules and stages of the competition:

• The first stage involves selection based on the presented documentation in accordance with the qualification requirements;

• The second stage involves an interview with the step head;

• The third stage involves an interview with the school's academic director and the personnel management and development manager.

• During the competition, the school will proactively contact only the candidates who have moved to the next stage.

After the competition is completed, any applicant has the right to request information about the results in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of Georgia.

Qualification requirements:

• Education: Higher education in education sciences, psychology (child/adolescent), social or humanitarian sciences will be considered an advantage.

• Work experience:

• At least 3 years of experience working in the education sector, in an educational environment or in the field of non-formal education;

• Experience working with adolescents (secondary/senior students) as a class head, mentor or camp leader;

• Experience working in an international school will be considered an advantage.

Required competencies:

• Proficiency in Georgian and English at a high level;

• Knowledge of adolescent age psychology, stages of socio-emotional development and behavioral characteristics;

• Ability to monitor the daily school life, discipline, attendance and academic progress of the "House" (student group);

• Promotion of team spirit, school identity, healthy competition and social responsibility among students (organization of school competitions, "House" activities);

• Development of individual mentoring plans and academic/personal support for students;

• Constant, proactive and structured communication with parents, informing them about the student's daily achievements and challenges.

Personal qualities and skills:

• Empathy, fairness and ability to approach each student individually, without discrimination;

• Ability to maintain a balance of authority, trust and friendly, yet distant relationship (professional boundaries) with adolescents;

• Ability to monitor the daily operational processes of the respective "House", student attendance, discipline and adaptation to the school environment;

• Conflict management, mediation and crisis situation response skills;

• High organizational skills, sense of responsibility and ability to effectively manage and lead large groups;

• Emotional resilience, ability to work in a stressful environment and maintain a positive attitude;

• Close teamwork with subject teachers and the head of school life.

The remuneration is based on an individual agreement with the selected candidate, defined through a competitive process at "Buckswood" and in accordance with the agreed criteria.
