(a)ip "National Botanical Garden of Georgia" announces a vacancy for the position of a researcher in the Department of Living Collections.

Workplace: Tbilisi, Botanikuri St. #1

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday 08:30-17:30

Remuneration: 2240 GEL (accrued)*

*Note: The accrued salary is subject to taxes as provided by Georgian legislation.

Functions and Responsibilities:

Curating, researching, identifying, verifying, and reflecting living collections in electronic databases according to modern taxonomic databases and nomenclature lists in Georgia, as well as monitoring, recording, and participating in collection replenishment and species conservation activities;

Verifying and monitoring seed and herbarium samples received at the botanical garden (for conservation in the seed bank or for other purposes, such as the exchange fund);

Monitoring, describing, compiling lists, and regularly updating and reflecting in the database the collection of rare and endangered plants of the botanical garden, plants of the Caucasian flora conservation department;

If necessary, participating in identifying and compiling lists of local flora species on the territory of the botanical garden;

Preparing scientific publications (articles), participating in educational programs, and representing the organization at local and international events.

Qualification Requirements:

Higher education in botany, biology, ecology, or a related field (master's or doctoral degree preferred);

Experience working in a similar position or in a scientific-research field;

Skills in using modern taxonomic databases and special literature;

Knowledge of English and proficiency in office programs (MS Office).

Ability to conduct scientific research and analysis;

Organizational skills and attention to detail;

Ability to work in a team and independently;

High sense of responsibility.
