Materials Testing Laboratory Operator

“Aero-Structures Technologies (Cyclone)“ is announcing a vacancy for the position of Materials Testing Laboratory Operator.

The goal of the position: To examine mechanical and physical characteristics of composite materials, sealants, adhesive tapes, and others and implement quality control processes in accordance with customer standards, technical specifications, and safety requirements.

Job description:

• Mechanical testing of materials - operation of mechanical testing units for materials; mechanical testing of samples according to required standards and specifications;
• Physical testing of materials and thermal analysis - quantitative or qualitative analysis of materials; determination of physical characteristics of test samples;
• Chemical analysis of substances - quantitative determination of components in samples of solutions with different chemical compositions by means of volumetric analysis - using methods of neutralization, oxidation-reduction, and other chemical analysis;
• Operation of chemical line - operation and monitoring of the chemical anodizing line;
• Visual inspection of samples using a microscope - preparation of microscope samples of composite materials and visual inspection using optical microscopes;
• Preparation of reports on performed work - preparation of a report on each test carried out in the laboratory, following pre-established rules and forms;
• Calibration of laboratory units - monitoring of calibration deadlines for units available in the laboratory and participation in calibration processes.
• Work on laboratory documentation - organization/update of test protocols and laboratory documents.
• Observance of safety rules - observance of labor safety, environmental protection, and safety procedures effective in the laboratory while working with chemical substances and laboratory equipment.

Qualification requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other related fields;
• Languages: knowledge of English at least at B2 level (ability to read and understand technical documentation);
• Experience: at least 1-year experience of working in a laboratory or similar position; experience of working with composite materials will be considered advantageous.
