Three weeks in: thank you, Georgia

findjobs.ge went live on 5 August. Three and a half weeks later, this is what the counters say: about 7,900 vacancies are live right now from roughly 2,800 companies, and listings have been opened more than 54,000 times. For a site this young, in a market this size, that is far more than we hoped for. Here is what all of it can do for you today.

One search instead of five. The site gathers vacancies from across Georgia's job boards into one place, in Georgian, English and Russian, with listings translated automatically so a vacancy written in one language can be read in yours. Every mirrored listing links back to its original source.

Applying takes about a minute, and you only introduce yourself once. Your profile holds your photo, work history and education, and travels with every application you send, so an employer sees real experience even when there is no CV attached. If you do attach a CV, it is checked for safety, and employers read it right on the page, translated if they need it. When an employer answers, the reply lands in your inbox here, whether they use this site or just their email.

As of today there is a worldwide remote section. It lists only jobs open to people working from Georgia, and every one is labeled with where the employer hires, so you never waste an evening applying to a job that only takes applicants from one country.

Work is not only vacancies. The gigs board carries one-off and short-term jobs with a reputation system: both sides confirm the work was done and rate each other, and the ratings follow people to their next gig. And if you would rather be found than search, post yourself on the job seekers board; your contacts stay hidden until you approve each request.

For employers, everything essential is free. Post directly and your listing ranks above the mirrored copies, carries the Direct badge, and joins Google job search. Applications arrive in your dashboard with CVs readable in the page, interview invitations that carry calendar files, and replies that reach the candidate wherever they are. If we already mirror your advert from another board, taking it over takes about a minute, and every listing under your address moves with it.

The site travels with you. The iPhone app is on the App Store, the Telegram channels carry new vacancies, gigs and news the moment they appear, and the support chat on every page answers in your language, with translation working both ways.

The best part of these three weeks is the community that has grown around the site. People wrote to us in the support chat, told us what was broken and what was missing, and were patient while we fixed it. This morning a reader reported that his CV would not attach; the bug was ours, and it was fixed within ten minutes. That pace only works because people keep telling us the truth.

What comes next: more worldwide remote sources, faster answers from employers, and the same rule as always. Everything on this site is free for job seekers, and every message to us is read by a person. Thank you for being here.
