Veterinary clinic "Neovet" is announcing a vacancy for a Veterinary Surgeon Assistant in Kutaisi.

Work location: Kutaisi

Working hours: 10:00-15:00 or 14:00-19:00

Salary: 600 GEL

Job purpose:

To support the daily work process of veterinarians and surgeons, participate in patient reception and preparation for procedures, assist during operations, and provide post-operative care. An integral part of the job is to clean and disinfect the medical space, process instruments, and maintain order.

Requirements:

• Medical education or student status.

• Responsibility, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to treat animals with care and follow hygiene rules.

Main duties:

• Patient reception and preparation
• Participate in patient reception, collect anamnesis from the owner, and familiarize yourself with the existing medical history.
• Measure and record weight, temperature, and other necessary indicators within the relevant training and doctor's instructions.
• Assist in verifying patient identification, records, and necessary pre-operative studies.
• Prepare the patient and operating area under the doctor's instructions, including hair removal and skin treatment.
• Assist during and before the operation
• Prepare the operating room, equipment, instruments, medications, and consumables; check package integrity and sterility.
• Directly assist the surgeon, provide necessary instruments and materials in a timely manner, and follow sterile field and asepsis rules.
• Participate in monitoring the patient's condition within your competence; immediately inform the doctor about any changes or deviations.

Post-operative care:

• Assist in safely transferring the patient and observing during the recovery period under the supervision of the responsible doctor.
• Participate in designated procedures and medication use within relevant training, competence, and doctor's instructions.
• Observe wounds and general condition, record necessary indicators, and immediately inform the doctor about any complications.

Cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization

• Prepare the operating and other medical workspaces before procedures, clean and organize after procedures.
• Disinfect work surfaces and separate clean and contaminated instruments and materials.
• Safely collect, process, package, and sterilize used instruments according to the clinic's approved procedure; maintain relevant records.
• Place sharp and other medical waste in designated containers; use personal protective equipment correctly.

Medication and consumable control

• Monitor the availability of necessary medications and materials for procedures and inform the responsible person about low stock in a timely manner.
• Check the medication name, expiration date, and packaging condition; label opened medications according to the clinic's rules.
• Use and store entrusted equipment, instruments, and materials correctly.
