Information about the project:

The goal of the project "VIBES II: Promotion of Youth Self-Determination, Well-being and Employment" is to provide psycho-social assistance to the target group of young people and improve their life, professional, employment, self-employment and entrepreneurship skills, in order to increase their chances of employment and self-employment, including small entrepreneurship, in the local labor market, as well as to restore and improve their social functioning.

The project also envisages the institutional strengthening of government agencies and local civil society organizations (CSOs) so that they can more effectively meet the needs of socially vulnerable and disadvantaged young people at the community level.

In Georgia, the project will be implemented in the Bolnisi municipality, in partnership with (A)IP Association "SOS Children's Villages of Georgia".

The main objective of the activity: To ensure psycho-social support for beneficiary young people within the framework of the project and to promote the restoration and improvement of social functioning.

The Social Worker is accountable to the Project Coordinator based on the project's objectives and tasks.

Main functions and responsibilities:

Case management; Finding resources for beneficiary young people and connecting them to the necessary resources; Organizing and facilitating meetings of project target group young people; Organizing individual and group sessions with target groups; Managing cases together with the multidisciplinary team created within the framework of the project (social worker, psychologist and employment consultant); Proper storage and documentation of information on ongoing and closed cases; Working in an electronic database system and generating relevant statistics; Ensuring the proper involvement of project beneficiary young people, including organizations participating in the project, based on project objectives; Ensuring effective communication with project team members and partner organizations involved in the project, within the scope of authority; Preparing reports on the activities carried out; Participating in various educational events organized within the framework of the project and professional supervision meetings.

Mandatory requirements:

• Higher education in Social Work;

• At least 2 years of experience working with young people, vulnerable children and families, and communities (the academic degree practice period in social work will be considered as experience);

• Ability to identify beneficiaries' interests, potential and needs, as well as provide support to them;

• Ability to empathize and support beneficiaries;

• Effective communication skills, ability to establish and maintain trust-based relationships;

• Ability to maintain self-control and professional calm in stressful and challenging situations;

• Strategic planning and effective organization of work;

• Teamwork and collaboration skills;

• Professional writing skills;

• Knowledge of office computer programs.

Information about the implementing and partner organizations:

The Bolnisi Adult Education Center was established in November 2020 by the German Association of Folk Universities, DVV International, Georgia office. The main goal of the organization is to promote the personal and professional development of the residents of Bolnisi Municipality through non-formal education to improve their living standards. The Bolnisi Adult Education Center aims to constantly develop the skills of young people and adults and promote employment.

SOS Children's Villages Georgia has been operating in Georgia since 1989 in the field of child welfare. The organization's goal is to protect the rights of socially vulnerable children and their parents, as well as children and young people without parental care, by offering community-based and alternative services to restore and improve their social functioning.
